the road trip south starts.

We got off to a great start early Monday morning, drove as far as Council Bluffs, IA. and spent the night at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino. Nice place, but over priced, plus we did not do to good at the tables. (would not go back there, only 1 thumb up) Second day we drove to Denver CO. When we arrived at the Fortune Hotel & Casino, to was bright and sunny and about 55 degrees. Great place, they comp our meal and gave us each ten bucks to play with, rooms were large and clean, very nice, we will be back, two thumbs up on this place. We did OK there, did not win big, but did not lose anything either. We got up around 6 am and turned on the news/weather WHAT A SHOCK..... It was now 15 degrees and 2 to 3 inches of snow on top of ice, just what we are trying to escape. It took us about three hours just to get out of Denver, but made it out. Spending tonight, our third night, in Albuquerque, NM. We could not find the Casino we wanted to stay at, but we did find a great Mexican restaurant and had a fabulous dinner. Spent the night at a Microtel, sucks... two thumbs down. It has been years since we had to stay at Hotels, We miss our Motor Coach. We’ll be heading to Sun City West in the morning and really looking forward to our stay there, especially after having to deal with the ice in Denver today.
